In this painting, Vernon captures a fond memory. In 1958 he and his friends, "the Mahoney boys," went on a hunting trip. The scene shows the four hunters on the North Heber Ridge looking south into the Heber Valley, which at that time was a lot calmer than the Heber Valley we know today.
