William Lindsay settled in the Red Ledges area of the Heber Valley. William was a homesteader that Vernon knew well. William built the home in the painintg and even helped build the home that Vernon Murdock lives in now. As Vernon was painting the scene of William's home, the song "The Farmer In The Dell" was playing in his mind.
